1879, NYSE Membership

Ladenburg Thalmann had been a member of the New York Stock Exchange since 1879 and, even before that, the firm had achieved pre-eminence as investment bankers, exerting powerful influence upon both sides of the Atlantic as one of the principal financial intermediaries between America, London, and the Continent. The name and credit of Ladenburg Thalmann were known and honored in financial markets throughout the world. Ernest Thalmann paid $13,550 for his NYSE seat on December 11, 1879.
